Philadelphia – Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced today there will be a full closure of Shady Lane from Pine Road to Abington Township on Friday, November 3 from 7am to 4pm. The full closure will allow for milling and paving work on Shady Lane from Pine Road to the culvert at the Abington Township border.
The work is being performed as part of safety improvements to the culvert at the City/Abington Township border and will be followed by speed cushion installation this fall and new signage and guide rail installation in the spring. The roadway will open to traffic earlier if work is completed sooner.
Residents can stay updated on the progress of their street using the PavePHL tool, the City’s web map paving tracker which allows residents to go online and view the progress of a street scheduled for paving. It is one of the several components housed on the StreetSmartPHL.phila.gov platform which allows the Streets Department to communicate to the public about some of its most prominent and visible core services – paving, permitting, trash and recycling collections and snow.
