PHILADELPHIA – The City of Philadelphia released road closure information for the 2022 Philadelphia Veterans Day Parade taking place on Sunday, November 6. 

Parade Activities & Information: The 8th Annual Philadelphia Veterans Parade will kick off at noon on Sunday, November 6, and feature more than 150 organizations, over 7,000 participants, and 30 Veteran Service Organizations.

The parade begins at Juniper and Market Streets, continues east on Market Street, and ends at 5th and Market Street where the Veterans Festival will take place and continue until 3:30 p.m. 

The Veterans Festival is a family-friendly event featuring food trucks, live music, and resources including job recruitment, healthcare providers, educational opportunities, financial assistance and workshops.

The parade will be broadcast live on 6ABC, 6abc.com, and 6abc Mobile App from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Road Closures

The following streets will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 6 until 5 p.m.:

  • Market Street between 6th Street and 3rd Street

The following streets will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, November 6 for the parade starting area:

  • JFK Blvd. between 20th Street and 15th Street

The following streets will be closed beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, and will reopen when  the parade concludes:

  • 15th Street from JFK Blvd. to S. Penn Square
  • S. Penn Square to Market Street
  • Market Street from S. Penn Square to 6th Street

Parking Restrictions

The above-listed streets will be posted as “Temporary No Parking” zones on Sunday, November 6. Motorists must adhere to “Temporary No Parking” signs. Vehicles parked in these locations during posted hours will be relocated. If you believe your car has been relocated, call the police district of the area where your car was parked.

Additional road closures and parking restrictions may be necessary in the vicinity of the event venue as dictated by conditions. Residents and visitors should always obey posted signs and instructions from the Philadelphia Police Department.

Public Transportation

SEPTA Bus Routes 2, 4, 16, 17, 23, 45, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 47, 47M, 48, 49, 57, 61, 124, and 125 will be detoured from their normal routes beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 6 through approximately 4:30 p.m.

Detours will be posted, and specific route changes are available on the System Status Page at septa.org.

Public Safety Information

Throughout the event, the City will provide law-enforcement support, traffic control, and emergency medical services for the event and in the surrounding vicinity. 

Attendees should never leave bags or other items unattended. In the event of an emergency or to report a suspicious person, activity, or item (backpack, package, container, etc.), notify a police officer immediately or call 9-1-1. Do not try to open, move, cover or touch a suspicious item.
