The PFD went into service as a paid municipal agency on March 15, 1871 and kicked off its sesquicentennial on March 15, 2021. The department and Fireman’s Hall have commemorated the milestone in various ways throughout the past year, including creating anniversary patches, T-shirts, billboards and new content on the museum website.
