10:30AM Mayor Kenney to Participate in 8th & Diamond Rebuild Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Mayor will join Council President Darrell L. Clarke, City Officials, and members of the community to celebrate the opening and renovated 8th and Diamond Playground. Funding for this project comes from a combination of investment from the Choice Neighborhoods Grant, awarded to the City of Philadelphia through DHCD and PHA by HUD, additional HUD funding, and Rebuild, the city’s historic investment in parks, recreation centers, and libraries.

The Mayor will join City Officials from the Office for Criminal Justice and Public Safety, the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, and the Philadelphia Police Department to provide an update on gun violence prevention strategies underway with a focus on available behavioral health and trauma supports. Details were issued in a separate advisory. The briefing will be live streamed on the City of Philadelphia’s Facebook account and aired at 900AM/96.1FM WURD.
