10AM Mayor Kenney to Speak at Laborers’ District Council Training Center Grand Opening Ceremony
The Mayor will join the Laborers’ District Council, union and elected officials, and Temple University for the grand opening of the new Laborers’ District Council Training Center. The new training facility will provide space for training construction laborers in general building, heavy and highway, environmental abatement, utility, trade show and maintenance, along with future technology. The building will also house programming, operated in conjunction with Temple University, to improve the community with first-class job training, basic education, and life skill training.

1PM Mayor Kenney to Announces Winners of “Philly Vax Sweepstakes” at Press Event
Mayor Kenney and Acting Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Bettigole will present ceremonial checks to the first-round winners of the “Philly Vax Sweepstakes,” a new initiative in partnership with University of Pennsylvania’s Behavioral Change for Good Initiative and the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium designed to encourage more Philadelphians to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
