The Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service is seeking nominations for the 2021 Mayor’s Day of Service Recognition Awards, and we need your help!

Each year, Philadelphia joins more than 4,250 cities, counties, and tribal areas to celebrate the impact of our volunteers and National Service members. We like to think of these awards as the “Oscars of volunteer and service engagement.” We say this because we are excited to “roll out the red carpet” and honor our volunteers and community leaders.

This year, we will recognize Philadelphia’s volunteers and community leaders in the following categories:

  • Mayor’s Philly Hero Award
  • Mayor’s Youth Hero Award (age 18 and under)
  • Mayor’s Distinguished National Service Award
  • Mayor’s Distinguished National Service Alumni Award

The top three winners of each category will be honored at an award ceremony in the spring with Mayor Kenney. If you’re looking for inspiration for your nominee this year, you can watch videos of our 2020 honorees and learn about their service.

Tell us about all the great things Philadelphians are doing to give back to their communities and nominate your own community leaders and service heroes before the January 31, 2021 deadline.
