PHILADELPHIA –  All City of Philadelphia offices will be closed and City services curtailed on January 20, in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Trash and recyclables will not be collected on Monday, January 20, 2020. Residents who have collection on Monday should set out their trash and recycling on Tuesday evening after 5:00 p.m. for collection. Trash and recycling collections will be one day behind schedule for the remainder of the week.

All City District Health Centers are closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as are the district offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I); the L&I License and Permit Center at the Municipal Services Building; the Marriage License Bureau; all Philadelphia Parks and Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches; and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations Branch at 9th and Filbert streets. The Philadelphia Parking Authority also will not be enforcing meters, kiosks, or residential parking time limits on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

All Philadelphia Department of Prisons facilities will not be open to visitors on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Executive offices will be closed.

City offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
