The Fire Department will welcome 10 paramedics to one of the busiest EMS systems in the nation. The cadets of Class 38 were already state-certified paramedics when they decided to join the PFD and go through the rigorous nine-week training session at the Fire Academy. Training included lessons on basic vehicle rescue; how to treat children who are seriously ill or injured; and how to respond during active shooter incidents.
