The 121 cadets of Class 196 are EMT-certified firefighters who will enable the department to begin reopening fire/EMS companies closed during the Recession. Members of Class 196 include a 60-year-old retired postal worker, a three-time graduate of the Fire Academy, and a woman whose PFD legacy dates back more than a century. Read more on our website.
