WHAT: Smoke alarm installations

WHO: Members of PFD’s Fire Prevention Division

American Red Cross

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Unit block of E. Logan Street

PFD members and the Red Cross will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature on the unit block of E. Logan Street in East Germantown, where a fatal fire occurred last week.

The Philadelphia Fire Department received a $1 million grant from FEMA to install 30,000 smoke alarms in Philly. If you know city residents in need, ask them to contact Philly 311. The PFD also has adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
