WHAT: Rescue 1 housing ceremony

WHEN: Saturday, June 15 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Rescue 1 / Engine 29 / Medic 15

4th Street and Girard Avenue

Commissioner Thiel and the members and alumni of Rescue 1 will officially welcome the new apparatus to the station. The custom-built vehicle, which replaces a 2002 model, went into service on May 18 and includes special equipment and high-tech features to enable technical rescues.

Rescue 1 firefighters are specially trained to handle high-angle rescues, trench collapses, structural collapses, swiftwater rescues, and confined space rescues. They respond to emergencies citywide.
