Fire Commissioner Adam K. Thiel and Eugene Janda, Penn’s Chief of Fire and Emergency Services, will present awards to Junior Fire Patrols, acknowledging their work in furthering fire safety education.
Junior Fire Patrols are made up of elementary and middle school students from public, parochial and charter schools throughout the city. Students conduct their own meetings, monitor school fire drills, and help promote fire safety education within their school, home and community. The program is co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Fire Department and Penn.
