WHAT: Smoke alarm installations

WHO: Engine 70 & Ladder 15

Members of PFD’s Fire Prevention Division

American Red Cross

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m.

WHERE: 1400 block of E. Cheltenham Avenue

PFD members and their partners will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature on the 1400 block of E. Cheltenham Avenue, where a fatal fire occurred earlier this month.

The Philadelphia Fire Department received a $1 million grant from FEMA last year to install 30,000 smoke alarms in Philly. If you know city residents in need, ask them to contact Philly 311. The PFD also has adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
