If you extended your time to file your Business Income & Receipts Tax (BIRT), Net Profits Tax (NPT), or School Income Tax (SIT), don’t forget to get your forms in. The deadline is Monday, October 15, 2018.

City tax returns and payments were due back in April.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) grants automatic six-month extensions to file your returns. The Philadelphia Department of Revenue honors that same extension when the IRS grants you that extra time.

Be aware that there are no extensions for the payment of taxes. Payments made after the original due date are subject to interest and penalties.

You can file your returns at any time during the six-month extension. But the October 15 deadline is approaching fast, so don’t miss it!

The best way to file is electronically. However, you can also find printable BIRT, BIRT EZ, NPT and SIT forms on our website.
