PHILADELPHIA – The City of Philadelphia has released the names of those who received tickets to the Mayor’s Box in 2017.
During this period, 2,794 tickets were distributed for events at the Wells Fargo Center, Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, the Dell Music Center and the Mann Music Center. 1,166 (42%) of the tickets went to individuals or groups representing recreation centers, nonprofits, schools and other community groups.
In total, $196,351 was raised during this period to benefit the non-profit Fund for the School District of Philadelphia. This includes $93,351 through an agreement made last year with the Philadelphia Eagles. The agreement allows the City to sub-license tickets for Eagles games and concerts at Lincoln Financial Field for the benefit of a non-profit organization.
$103,000 was also generated from an agreement announced in December of 2016, with the Wells Fargo Center. Under the terms of that three-year agreement, Comcast Spectacor will pay the City an annual fee of $100,000 whether or not Comcast Spectacor resells the suite for Philadelphia Flyers games and Philadelphia 76ers games, plus a percentage of sales for special events, to be paid in September of each year.
