Need plans for Labor Day weekend? Parks & Rec is here for you! This weekend, we have a free concert, a movie night, and more.
Although temperatures will drop by the weekend, there’s a possibility of rain, so be sure to check event pages for any delays or changes.
Jazz in the Park, presented by Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr.
For the second year, Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. has partnered with Jazz Bridge to bring music to several parks. The concerts will take place at six parks in the Councilman’s district, rain or shine. Bring a chair, snacks, and a friend!
Can’t make this week’s concert? The series runs Thursdays, August 23 through September 27.

American Swedish Historical Museum concert
Head over to the American Swedish Historical Museum in FDR Park for a free summer evening concert on the terrace! Norwegian musician Ann-Marita will perform Scandinavian folk, contemporary, and original songs centered around stories about Scandinavian immigrants in the United States. Cash bar and food will be available throughout the evening. No pre-registration needed.

Movie night: Black Panther
Watch a movie under the stars at Emanuel Recreation Center as part of the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation movie series! Every movie night is free. Bring a blanket and a friend!

Labor Day fireworks on the Delaware River
Penn Treaty Park’s eight acres on the banks of the Delaware River provide a great vantage point to watch the fireworks! Bring a picnic and some friends to watch the Labor Day lights this Saturday.

We Walk PHL fall kickoff
We Walk PHL, a series of free walking groups that encourage Philadelphians to get up and get moving, is kicking off its “official” fall season. Lanier Playground and Clark Park will host group walks on Monday. Use your day off to take a stroll and make new friends!
