For Gianna Graham, the benefits of PHLpreK go beyond her daughter’s education.

Gianna and her daughter Kaylie recently participated in a healthy cooking class co-sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Education and Penn State Extension, and offered specifically to families of young learners.

Gianna described the event as “a real treat. I enjoyed meeting new people, the hands-on experiences for kids, and great resources. The best part is, everyone had fun!”

Kaylie attends the Methodist Services Educare Learning Center in West Philadelphia, a center Gianna describes as “a school with excellent academics and a safe, and beautiful learning environment.”

“My daughter has learned and developed so many core skills over the year; and I owe it all to PHLpreK’s program and platform, for sharing this opportunity which allows her to grow and prepare for the future ahead,” she added.

The Graham family is happy to be part of the PHLpreK community.

“I couldn’t be more proud to have my daughter associated with a program that’s focused on helping her and other children succeed in the future,” Gianna said.
