Philadelphia Flyers Brandon Manning and Travis Konecny will promote fire prevention by helping the PFD to install smoke alarms in homes near Engine 49. Both players have fathers who are firefighters.
The PFD recently received a Department of Homeland Security grant to install 30,000 smoke alarms, including adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. City residents who need smoke alarms should contact Philly 311.
