Welcoming Week 2020
Welcoming immigrants and connecting communities in Philadelphia.
Welcoming immigrants and connecting communities in Philadelphia.
A national initiative, Welcoming Week builds common ground in Philadelphia’s communities to encourage dialogue and forge relationships among immigrants, refugees, and US-born citizens.
Kids and parents will learn from storytellers, musicians, and performers from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Come learn the stories and traditions that keep immigrants and refugees strong.
Join a safe space where the immigrant and refugee community can discuss wellness and resiliency, as well as experiences of pre-and post-migration trauma.
In this panel, local community organizers will share experiences of intersecting identities, grassroots community-building, and advocacy. This event will be hosted by the Office of LGBT Affairs and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services.
