Micro Economic Development (MED) Week honors the exceptional achievements of Philadelphia small, local, and underrepresented business enterprises. The 41st annual Philadelphia MED Week will offer business owners valuable connections and resources to foster their growth. This year’s theme is “In Pursuit of Bold Solutions for Today’s Challenges.”

    Join the Community Colleges Northeast Regional Center for an in-person workshop during MEDWeek will include breakfast followed by rotating table discussions with each expert covering the topics of Legal Compliance, Financial Matters, Human Resources and Marketing. Attendees will rotate from table to table to gain information on each of the topics. The workshop will conclude with a panel discussion where experts will field questions from the attendees.

    Join the Department of Commerce and SEPTA for a two-day summit designed to equip business owners with the knowledge and tools needed to secure funding from local banks and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).

    This summit will focus on financing and lending opportunities for businesses. Attendees will be guided through the critical steps and required documentation to successfully apply for funding—empowering them to confidently advocate for their financial needs.

    The summit will include a fireside chat with Donovan West, Director of Mayor’s Business Roundtables & Felicia Wilson, Owner of Amina Hospitality Collection.

    The event will also feature resource tables from financial institutions and local organizations offering business support, including vendor opportunities.
