Old York Road complete streets project

A Complete Streets project

About

Old York Road (from Erie Avenue to Lindley Avenue) connects people to Hunting Park, schools, businesses, and residential communities. With this project, the City will improve traffic safety and help to reduce the high number of crashes on the street. We will work with community members and businesses to understand the traffic safety issues that impact people who walk, bike, take transportation, and drive on Old York Road.

This project is in the planning phase for design and construction. Improvements to the street will be informed by feedback from community members and stakeholders and will:

  • Repave and restripe the road.
  • Explore ways to reduce crashes by improving the design of the street.
  • Upgrade traffic signals and signage.
  • Improve safety for all who use the street.
