Shared Safety is our coordinated community response to relational violence. Established in 2015, it brings together City agencies and community-based organizations providing health and human services to individuals and families. This allows us to address system issues that cannot be solved by one single organization or City department alone.
Through this initiative, members collaborate to address the needs of survivors and their families. Keeping an eye on progress and updating our goals is important.
In Fall 2025, the Shared Safety Capacity Building VISTA joined the Office of Domestic Violence Strategies (ODVS). The VISTA’s project was to help Shared Safety update its strategic plan. The process involved interviewing members, convening task force meetings, and brainstorming. With what we learned, the strategic plan now has clear strategies to address each goal. These strategies help ensure the goals are realistic and achievable.
This updated plan will help guide Shared Safety’s work moving forward, providing us a shared direction. It helps us stay focused and organized as we continue this important work.
