Taking place at the historic Union Trust building, the location of the first Philadelphia Flower Show in 1829, the event will feature a speaking program from PHS leadership, Mayor Parker and other elected officials. The debut never-before-seen artistic renderings of key 2026 Flower Show exhibits.

Mayor Parker to Join Avenue of the Arts for Ceremonial Groundbreaking of 10-Block Transformation

Location: Kimmel Center, Second Floor Balcony, 300 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA

The event is the ceremonial groundbreaking and celebratory press conference marking the start of the 10-block transformation. The $150 million effort will reimagine the public realm of Avenue of the Arts, from City Hall to Washington Avenue, into a green, pedestrian-focused cultural boulevard and a center stage for Philadelphia civic life, creating one of the world’s great cultural streets. Construction will officially begin on Jan. 30th.
