PHILADELPHIA — The City of Philadelphia and the First Judicial District (FJD) of Pennsylvania today issued the following joint statement in regard to Philadelphia’s Neighborhood Wellness Courts resuming full operations today, Wednesday, May 7:

“The City of Philadelphia and the First Judicial District are committed to working together to ensure the success of the Neighborhood Wellness Court, a pilot program that seeks to reduce public drug use by providing immediate treatment and other medical and social services as needed to users without overly criminalizing their behavior. Like all pilots of this type, adjustments will be made during program operations to ensure program efficiency.

“We are pleased that through our ongoing collaboration we were able to improve protocols, and we have resumed full operations of the Neighborhood Wellness Court on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.”
