Last Monday, the Mayor’s Office of Philly Stat 360 launched a new interactive dashboard to track how the City is making progress in Kensington. Using data from our partners across the City, the new page tracks progress in five categories: public safety, health and wellness, quality of life, demographics, and economic opportunity.

Who is this site for?

Our mission at Philly Stat 360 is to make government more transparent by turning data into easy-to-use tools. The new Kensington page was built with that in mind, and is for everyone, from the highest ranks of City government to curious Philadelphians. You don’t need any technical knowledge to use or understand it. We recommend viewing the page on a computer, as we are currently working on making the page more mobile-friendly.

How does this help Kensington?

Mayor Parker identified Kensington as a priority from her first day in office, and this website is the culmination of one year of work in the area. By bringing together data from over 20 City agencies who are working in Kensington, we are breaking down silos and making our work more transparent. A website cannot repair a community, but it can be a tool to hold the City accountable and help ensure we make a long-lasting difference in Kensington.

Where does this data come from?

We compiled data for this webpage from our partner organizations across the City, including (but not limited to) the Police and Fire Departments, the Office of Homeless Services, the Office of Clean and Green Initiatives, and the Department of Commerce. By pulling together this data from different sources, we’re bringing together the City of Philadelphia’s initiatives in one place for the first time.

How will this data be used?

Philly Stat 360 works to use data to inform decision making across the city. By using data, we can understand what works, what doesn’t work, and what needs to change. It’s not a magic cure by any means, and listening to Kensington residents is still as important as ever to inform our decision making.

Where can I find out more?
