120.7 City Councils

Journal of City Council, 1920-date.

The Journals of Councils, Select and Common Councils. and of City Council include the full proceedings of both houses of City Council bound together till 1854, bound separately between 1854 and 1920 and of Council as a unicameral body after 1920. Appendices to the Journals are very important because they include copies of ordinances and resolutions which were introduced , City Solicitor’s opinions, messages and petitions, reports of special committees and of standing committees on the normal operations of City departments, and of other City agencies. Until 1854 the standing committees controlled City departments and their annual reports are found in these volumes.
