Entries for all shifts list date, hours of shift, height of water in Fairmount, Corinthian Avenue and Spring Garden basins and in the dam at given intervals, high water mark and the time it occurred during each shift, time each pumping wheel started and stopped operating, number of hours in operation, number of revolutions per minute, total revolutions during shift, number of gallons of water pumped, total hours in operation, total revolutions, and total gallons of all wheels combined, cumulative revo lutions of each wheel for the year at the completion of shift, temperatures of atmosphere and water, amount and kind of lubricant used, number of men on watch, their work, cause of breakdown of wheels, and signature of engineer on watch. Vols. August 1898-July 1909 add daily totals of hours run and gallons pumped by each wheel and total quantity of each lubricant used. Also included are 1 cubic feet of unbound daily reports, January 1886-February 1891 which overlap the bound reports and seem to have been rough worksheets. These list similar information.

These files principally pertain to the expansion program at the Northeast Sewage Treatment Works and the bases of its design, the "split treatment" of sludge, sludge disposal, and the comprehensive survey of the water resources of the Delaware River Basin. It includes correspondence between officials of the Water Department and Greely & Hansen, Engineers, and with officials of the federal government and of other cities and states; memos, reports, copies of contracts, speeches, construction estimates, plans and diagrams of the Northeast Sewage Treatment Plant, maps of sewage facilities in the City of Philadelphia, sludge analyses, and flow charts.

91.34 Plans of the Water Mains of the Philadelphia Suburban Water Company in Oak Lane.

These water mains were sold to the City of Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Suburban Water Company. The plans were prepared by the Operating Department of the American Pipe Manufacturing Co. or American Pipe and Construction Co. for the Oak Lane Division of the North Springfield Water Company and Springfield Consolidated Water Company, and for the Eastern Division of the Philadelphia Suburban Water Company. Scale varies. Plans principally show locations of pipe extensions; however, one plan, dated June 15, 1925, shows details of piping for a proposed booster pump at the City Reservoirs, 65th Avenue at 4th Street; and another, dated May 25, 1916, shows taps and services of the Springfield Consolidated Water Company on Haines Street west of Old York Road. Entries list the plan number, plan number of the construction company, street location of the pipe extension, material and diameter of the pipe extension, horizontal and vertical scales; name, title and signature of person approving of the plans; and dates of commencement and completion of the work and the date the water was turned on. Added variously are curb elevations, profiles of trenches, types of pavings excavation details; the location of valve boxes, sleeves, blowoffs, fire hydrants, and bends in piping; and location of bridges and trolley tracks, Details of piping for the proposed booster pump at the City Reservoirs at 65th Avenue at 4th Street adds elevation and depth of Reservoirs. Plan of taps and services of the Springfield Consolidated Water Company at Haines Street west of Old York Road adds user's name and address, service number of each, size of pipe and meter servicing each user, and water meter number,
