MAYOR'S ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 1-1958
TRANSFER OF THE ELECTRICAL INSPECTION FUNCTION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LICENSES AND INSPECTIONS

In accordance with Section 8-412 of the Home Rule Charter, the following inspectional and license issuance functions are, with the approval of the Administrative Board, transferred from the Department of Public Property to the Department of Licenses and Inspections:

Issue permits to erect poles.
Issue licenses to maintain poles.
Issue licenses to maintain overhead wires.
Inspect underground and overhead wires.
Inspect poles.
Inspect reported defective electrical wiring and equipment.
Enforce the emergency lighting ordinance.
Inspect buildings damaged by fires of electrical origin.
Inspect electrical equipment at theatres, motion picture houses and other places of public assembly.
Inspect electrical equipment used by road shows, circuses and carnivals.
Approve electrical wiring plans for air conditioning and partking lots and issue necessary permits.
Inspect and issue permits for temporary street electrical decorations.
Inspect electrical installations at City-owned buildings for compliance with electrical regulations.
Process applications, examine and issue licenses for motion picture projectionists.

The provisions of this Order shall become effective June 16, 1958.
