Volume 1939 entitled "Philadelphia Accident Facts" and contains tables relating to all traffic accidents resulting in fatalities and injury during 1939. Also included are tables relating to total traffic fatalities in 1936, 1937, 1938 & 1939, yearly distribution of motor vehicle fatalities 1928-1939, inclusive; traffic fatalities 1936-1939, inclusive; comparative figures for 1938 & 1939; pedestrian/motor vehicle accidents; motor vehicle injuries & deaths, 1921-1939, inclusive; and bicycle accident figures.
Volume 1947 entitled "Philadelphia Traffic Fatalities" and has a comparison and analysis of traffic fatality and injury statistics 1941, 1946, 1947, and a report of the Bureau's campaign of 1947 to alleviate the problem.
Vols. 1948-1950 entitled "Philadelphia Traffic Accident Facts -Motor Vehicle Deaths and Injuries" and contains written summary accompanied by statistical tables comparing previous and present year; type of motor vehicle accident; day of week in which accident occurred; age and race of person killed or injured; type of pedestrian action; condition and residence of pedestrian; hours in which accident occurred; driver violation, age, condition, sex & race; & type of motor vehicle.

Vehicular traffic study of major intersections in city arranged alphabetically by major street in intersection. Each entry contains diagram of intersection, number of vehicles traveling in each direction, time and date of survey.

83-5.4 Traffic and Pedestrian Survey

Surveys conducted under the auspices of the Works Progress Administration. Enlargement of work previously accomplished in 1934 [See Record Series 83.18] Material includes vehicular traffic analyses at thousands of intersections throughout the city with summaries for automobile traffic, bus traffic, truck traffic and all traffic; pedestrian traffic at major intersections during selected days in month of April, 1938; and street car loading and unloading statistics. 1 cu. ft. devoted to typed summary sheets arranged alphabetically by name of major street within intersection.
