Vol. 9 is a chronological list of the public school buildings of Philadelphia, 1818-1932, which includes, under the year of construction or acquisition by the School District, each school's name, its location, other names for the school, identity of school it replaced, date of construction if constructed by private interests; date school removed, replaced or sold; and name of any school superseding it. Also includes location of Board's Administrative offices,1818-1932.

Prepared by the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (1985-1987), Office of Research & Evaluation (1987-1989) and the Office of Assessment (1989-1991). Each of the volumes contains a summary section broken down into city-wide statistics, district statistics, and levels (elementary, high school, special schools, etc.). The statistics include pupil enrollments broken down by grade and race, number of students retained in the same grade, number of students suspended, bilingual program students, and withdrawals. The information also includes the average daily attendance, percentage of pupils from low-income families, and pupils receiving subsidized transportation, either by tokens or school bus. Staff data includes numbers of principals, vice-principals, teachers, counselors, librarians and other positions with breakdowns by race and gender. The Program Data table includes career and vocational education totals of students in agriculture, business education, distributive education, health occupations, home economics, industrial arts and trade & industrial education. An Achievement Data table includes a percentile rank of the mean showing the average rank of each class (K-8) within the district in achievement in mathematice, reading/language arts, science and social studies. The math and reading grades are ranked both locally and nationally: the science and social studies ranks are local only (except for School Year 1985-1986 in which only local rankings are given). The high school achievement data includes the number and percent of pupils receiving course credit in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, broken down by grade. Finally, this section concludes with the number of students who took the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and their mean scores. A last section lists the number of graduates, broken down by race: American Indian, Black, Asian, Hispanic or White; and their post-graduation plans (4-year college, 2-year college, Business/Technical and other post-graduate training, military, employment, undecided, or other). Each school within the district is similarly charted with the addition of the address of the school, phone number, school construction date, hours of operation, capacity, grade organization, name of principal and his/her date of appointment as a principal and assignment to this particular school, school classification, desegregation status, special education programs and early childhood programs offered at this particular school. The data compiled for the pupil, staff, achievement and graduate data tables is the same as above. There is a section in the Program Data Table which lists the specific special programs offered at a particular school

Vols.. February 1915June 1919 add student's race, date of birth, place of birth, previous school attended, how student was admitted, date and cause of leaving and student's trade, parent's or guardian's occupation, business address, firm name and telephone number; student's grades in Hygiene, Electrical Wiring, Elementary Hand Works Cabinet Making, Student Activities, Application and Attitude Toward Work and Deportment; number of days student was absent unexplained and additional periods student was absent. Volumes also list the Courses of Study for students in Electrical Construction, Printing, Cabinet Making, Carpentry, Machine Construction, Pattern Making, Architectural Drawing and Mechanical Drawing, which list the course taken each year and the number of hours for each course.
