Criminal Sessions, Clerk of the Court of[Record group 23]

- Court established by Act of March 19, 1838 which assigned to it the criminal (but not the oyer and terminer) jurisdiction of the Court of Quarter Sessions, that court's authority in road matters, and the functions of the then-abolished Mayor's Court and Recorder's Court. The Clerk of Quarter Sessions acted ex-officio as the Clerk of the new court. An Act of February 27, 1840, abolished this court and transferred its jurisdictions to the then-established Court of General Sessions.
