The function of this office is to review all operations of the City government with the intent to streamline operations and cut costs where needed.

Agency History
In 1992, Mayor Edward G. Rendell set up the Office of Management and Productivity. Mayor Rendell also established a private-public partnership, known as the Mayor's Private Sector Task Force on Management and Productivity, to assist this office with its tasks.
