Fellowship of University Women
FUW is an international non-governmental organization (NGO)
of over 180,000 women university graduates from seventy-two national
federations and associations throughout the world. It was founded
in 1919 after the First World War by women graduates from Canada,
Great Britain and the United States to promote international
friendship, cooperation and peace. IFWU is committed to
education to influence and benefit society, the right of women
and girls to pursue education in order to reach their full potential,
the recognition and protection of human rights, the promotion
of peace, justice and equality, and the development of international
understanding, co-operation and friendship.
