Emerging Leaders
What is Emerging Leaders?
Emerging Leaders started as a grassroots networking and career development opportunity for new managers in the City of Philadelphia government. To date, Emerging Leaders engages approximately 120 city employees across 32 departments The goal of Emerging Leaders is to help participants build interdepartmental relationships and become more informed about city-wide operations through various engagement opportunities.
What do we do?
As a member of the Emerging Leaders group, you may participate in a monthly “Brown Bag” speaker series with City officials or an informational session on a particular City operation and periodic social networking opportunities. The Office of Leadership Investment will also disseminate information about career development and training opportunities.
What are the requirements?
To be an Emerging Leader, you must be an exempt or non-represented employee with at least a year of work conducting high-level analytical or managerial projects. Membership is voluntary and new members must be recommended or confirmed by department commissioners or deputy commissioners.
To be considered for Emerging Leaders, contact your department commissioner or deputy commissioner and have them recommend you for membership. Please ask them to contact one of the following Office of Leadership Investment staff:
