Files 1963-1965 pertain to an analytical study and report concerning the New Main Exhibition Hall and parking facilities at the Trade and Convention Center, prepared by Davis, Poole and Sloan and Edward D. Sloan, architects, and its conflict with the proposed development of the West Philadelphia District by the City Planning Commission in anticipation of a World's Fair (the Bicentennial Exposition)
Files 1962-1971 pertain to the 1967 transit strike and preparation for civil disturbances. Included are reports from divisions of the Department of Public Property concerning preparations for the strike, City procedures in the event of a transportation emergency, truck routes for employee transportation, civil disturbance emergency plans, the welfare emergency plan for victims of civil disorders and a record of overtime for the July-August 1967 riot alert.
Files 1973-1974 pertain to the planning for the Bicentennial and includes copies of Capital Fund bills submitted by the Director of Administration of Philadelphia '76, Inc. to the City Solicitor, a copy of the contract between Philadelphia '76, Inc. and the City, lists of program activities and their costs, and lists of consultants, copies of planning proposals, bills submitted and expenditures authorized, correspondence with officials of Philadelphia '76, Inc. and a concluding reports on monies spent on the proposed Philaflora exhibition.
