SANITATION ENFORCEMENT SUPERVISOR


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is supervisory sanitation enforcement work directing the activities of a group of geographically assigned enforcement officers for the Department of Streets. Employees in this class are responsible for exercising judgement in the enforcement and interpretation of streets related sanitation laws and regulations, and developing and implementing procedures intended to insure consistent and equitable enforcement. Work includes meeting with community groups to educate, motivate and promote interest in compliance with sanitation laws and regulations. Work involves some disagreeable conditions and may require handling rubbish in an effort to identify violators. Work is performed under the supervision of an administrative superior.
