HIRING SERVICES ASSOCIATE 3
GENERAL DEFINITION
This is public human resources work at the advanced performance level in a hiring team in the City's central human resources agency. The employee in this class works as part of a hiring team and is responsible for performing public personnel work proficiently in all functions, including assessment and job design and compensation. The employee is expected to perform assignments in all functions with minimal supervision. The employee regularly manages or participates in projects involving revision, development and implementation of hiring process procedures, policies, and regulations. The employee works collaboratively with city administrators, union officials, employees, and the public to facilitate resolution of identified hiring issues.

- Performs assessment and job design and compensation assignments proficiently and autonomously.
- Performs complex assignments requiring application of procedures in multiple functions with minimal supervision.
- Actively seeks out and engages management or senior associates as required to complete assignments.

- Serves as a project leader for complex assignments as called up by hiring team leader.
- Analyzes, devises and develops departmental processes and procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
(The following statement represents the minimum training and experience standards which will be used to admit or reject applicants for tests. Applications submitted by candidates for this class will reviewed based on training and experience requirements as approved on 4/99.)
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial psychology, or a closely related field.
AND
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
- Two years of public human resources experience.
AND
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
- One year of experience at the Hiring Associate 2 level.
NOTE: A master's degree in human resources, industrial psychology, or closely related field may be substituted for one year of general experience.
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required of
a position in this class.
