HIRING SERVICES ASSOCIATE 2
GENERAL DEFINITION
This is public human resources work at the full performance level in a hiring team in the City's central human resources agency. The employee in this class works as part of a hiring team and is responsible for performing public human resource work proficiently in assessment and/or job design and compensation. The employee is expected to perform work in the function of their expertise with minimal supervision and to become proficient in both functional areas as they progress within this class. The employee builds on established relationships with city administrators, union officials, employees, and the public as required to achieve individual and departmental objectives.

- Current developments in the field of human resources administration.
- Hay method of pay evaluation, if required by assignment.

- Statistical concepts and techniques appropriate to assignment.
- Test development and administration, if required by assignment.
- Standard computer software packages used for work processing, spreadsheets, and database management as well as Personnel Department specific information systems.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (The following statement represents the minimum training and experience standards which will be used to admit or reject applicants for tests. Applications submitted by candidates for this class will be reviewed based on training and experience requirements approved on 4/99.)
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial psychology, or a closely related field.
AND
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
- One year of public human resources experience.
AND
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
- One year of experience of public human resources work at the Hiring Associate I level.
NOTE:
A master's degree in human resources, industrial psychology, or closely related field may be substituted for the general experience listed above.
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required of City human resource positions.
