PERSONNEL ANALYST I


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is public personnel work at the advanced training level in the city's central personnel agency. An employee in this class participates in a continuing training program for journeyman level performance which includes rotational assignments in classification, examination and basic data. Work is performed under close supervision and assignments expand in complexity and scope as the employee gains experience. Significant to the work is establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with departmental personnel, union officials, associates and other department staff.

Work is performed under the direction of a technical supervisor. Assignments require evaluative thinking and are performed in accordance with standard personnel practices and policies. Activities affect the operation of a central agency personnel program.

Or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience which includes possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as an educational minimum.
