PROCUREMENT TECHNICIAN ASSOCIATE

GENERAL DEFINITION

This is technical procurement work, of a para-professional nature, processing and reviewing purchase requisitions for commodity items and/or construction contractors. Employees in this class work independently on assigned, non-complicated purchasing projects and perform various facilitative services as part of a team on more difficult assignments. This class is differentiated from other technical procurement classes in that employees have primary responsibility for assigned purchasing projects, which do not expand in scope and complexity as the employee gains experience. Work is performed under the general supervision of a technical superior.
