DEPARTMENTAL PAYROLL SUPERVISOR I



GENERAL DEFINITION

This is payroll work at the first supervisory level. The employee in this class supervises a staff of clerical employees engaged in posting transactions which affect payroll amounts and leave balances and participates in the payroll preparation process. Ensuring that payroll transactions conform to civil service regulations and contractual agreements, and resolving payroll related problems are significant aspects of the work. The employee reports to an administrative superior.

  1. The employee must supervise a staff of clerical employees engaged in payroll processing and preparation.
  2. Only one position may be allocated to this class.
