It’s time for some holiday cheer! In case you missed it, the official City of Philadelphia holiday tree is here and is comfortably resting in its new home at City Hall for the next month.

The Visit Philadelphia Holiday Tree, a 55 foot white fir (Abies Concolor) arrived in style on Monday, November 18 and will be prepped for its big moment at the official City of Philadelphia Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration.

With only two weeks to go until the lighting ceremony on December 4th, the tree of the hour is currently being decorated with custom designed ornaments, approximately 4000 linear feet of lights, and a very “Philly” Liberty Bell tree topper. It will take approximately five days to get the tree Instagram ready for the big show.

Presented by Bank of America and produced by the Office of the City Representative, the City of Philadelphia Tree Lighting Celebration will be a night of memorable performances, featuring a mix of traditional and modern holiday favorites that will make you want to sing along.

The festivities will also include family friendly entertainment, exciting giveaways, yummy hot chocolate and lots of holiday cheer. Mark your calendars and don’t miss the official start to the city’s winter holiday season.

Philadelphia LOVES the holidays!
