Celebrating Philadelphia’s diversity through a day of championship soccer fun
Soccer fans get ready for a day of spirited competition and a celebration of Philadelphia’s rich diversity at the fourth annual Philadelphia International Unity Cup!
On Saturday, October 12 at the Talen Energy Stadium, the final championship game between Liberia and USA will end two months of World Cup style matches between 52 teams that represent some of Philadelphia’s international communities. The final match will kick-off at 6:00 p.m.
Before the action begins, be sure to join us from 2:00 p.m. for an afternoon of free, family-friendly activities including a youth tournament, all-star game, naturalization ceremony and the inaugural carrying of the Unity Banner, a 120 feet long by 20 feet wide banner comprised of the flags from the 52 countries that were represented in the tournament.
An idea of Mayor Jim Kenney, the first Unity Cup, was held in 2016 and is now established as a major City of Philadelphia event that honors and celebrates Philadelphia’s diverse neighborhoods and communities.
