Community Schools coordinators improve the lives of students, families, and community members. That’s why the Coalition for Community Schools asks community members and organizations to participate in a national week of appreciation.

Here’s a look back on how Philadelphia celebrated Coordinators Appreciation Week 2019:

1. The Mayor’s Office of Education asked members of our Community School coordinators’ communities to write letters of appreciation. We presented the letters to them on camera. Grab your tissues and hit play.

2. Check out these shout-outs that Mayor Kenney, Chief Education Officer Otis Hackney, and Director of Operation for Community Schools Maxwell Akuamoah-Boateng shared during the week.

3. Former Community Schools manager and Mayor’s Office of Education superfan Andrea DiMola made mid-week special for the women of Community Schools with #WCW praise.

4. Community School partners including Drexel’s Eat Healthy Philly, Eat Right Philly, West Philadelphia Promise Neighborhood, and more thanked Community School Coordinators for all that they do!

5. And Philadelphia’s City departments joined in the praise too. Thank you oTIS, the Office of Adult Education, the Office Innovation and Technology, and others for your kind words!
