Summer is a time for fun, friends, and great events. Read on to learn about free activities and resources available at Community Schools and throughout the city in the month of June and beyond!
Throughout the month
When: Every Tuesday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Alain Locke School
Stop by for free, healthy groceries! This pop-up pantry is run by the People’s Emergency Center and features perishable and nonperishable food. Drexel’s Eat Right Philly program hosts cooking demonstrations.
When: Every Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Where: Murrell Dobbins High School
Pick up free, fresh fruits and vegetables. This weekly produce stand is operated by Philabundance and held in front of the school, weather pending.
Please note the Wednesday, June 12 Fresh For All will take place on Thursday, June 13.

Where: Logan Elementary School
Logan Elementary School will host its annual “Bringing Everyone Together” (BET) Expo to kick off the summer season! Stop by, or stay for the day!
At this event you can learn all about great clubs and activities that are available at Logan and around the neighborhood. Catch a Movemakers Philly performance from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Join for a basketball tournament at 6 p.m. And end the evening with a movie, beginning at sundown!

Where: Gideon Elementary
Get a jump start on healthy summer fun at the Edward Gideon Health Fair! Come out for an evening of fun, friends, and fantastic resources for the whole family! This event will include blood pressure screenings, dental screenings, produce distribution, and more!
Catch the Rapping About Preventing (RAP) performance from 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Happening all summer
What: PHLpreK enrollment
Where: PHLpreK locations across the city
If your child will be 3 or 4 by September 1 and lives in Philadelphia, stay tuned! PHLpreK enrollment will open in June.
PHLpreK is the City’s free, quality pre-K program funded by the Philadelphia Beverage Tax, and is growing to serve 3,300 children next school year. There are no income requirements for PHLpreK.

What: Summer Meals
Where: Throughout the city
Beginning mid-June, the City of Philadelphia and partners will provide healthy summer meals to children up to 18 at summer meal sites throughout the city! Summer meal sites will be hosted by local organizations and neighborhood blocks.
