As part of Greenworks, Philadelphia’s plan for sustainability, the Office of Sustainability supports the Philadelphia Food Policy Advisory Council (FPAC) to create a more just food system by connecting Philadelphians and their local government.

FPAC members work towards a vision in which all Philadelphians can access and afford healthy, sustainable, culturally appropriate, local, and fair food. FPAC works with municipal agencies, local food justice leaders, and resident stakeholders to advise the City of Philadelphia on food policy issues.

About the Position

The City is looking for an Interim FPAC Manager to provide administrative and project implementation support to FPAC as it undergoes a 12-month strategic planning process to center the values of diversity, inclusion, and equity in its work. The position will be housed in the Office of Sustainability and supervised by the Director. All applications are due on June 24.

FPAC currently has 28 appointed members and 6 subcommittees: Anti-Hunger, Food & Health, Urban Agriculture, Workforce & Economic Development, Zero Waste, and Membership & Governance. The Council also holds regular full body meetings which are open to the public. The Interim Manager will also be responsible for attending full body and subcommittee meetings, supporting projects between meetings, and providing administrative support.
