WHERE: 2600 block of S. 3rd Street and the surrounding area

PFD members and the Red Cross will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature on and around the 2600 block of S. 3rd St., where a fatal fire occurred earlier this month.

The Philadelphia Fire Department received a $1 million grant from FEMA to install 30,000 smoke alarms in Philly. If you know city residents in need, ask them to contact Philly 311. The PFD also has adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
