WHERE: 2300 & 2400 blocks of Nicholas Street
PFD members and their partners will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature on the 2300 & 2400 blocks of Nicholas Street. It’s part of the “Change Your Clocks – Check Your Smoke Alarms” campaign pegged to the end of Daylight Saving Time. Residents should turn back their clocks one hour on Sunday, Nov. 4.
The Philadelphia Fire Department received a $1 million grant from FEMA last year to install 30,000 smoke alarms. If you know city residents in need, ask them to contact Philly 311. The PFD also has adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
