Summer’s not over yet! While some programs like our pop-up park The Oval+ are closing down after this weekend, there’s still tons to do and see in the summer warmth. Read up on our weekend suggestions, from live music to a historic hike.

Shake It Off Fridays at LOVE Park

Come start your weekend right with lunchtime line dancing!

Campbell Square Shenanigans Irish Music

On August 17, Shenanigans Irish Music comes to Campbell Square, as part of a series of musical events in the park, organized by the Friends of Campbell Square.

Last Weekend of The Oval+

The Oval+, a pop-up park along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, is down to its final few days of programming! Make sure to check out one of this weekend’s free activities– like a movie at Food & Flicks Friday, or a kids’ dance party during Sunday Family Funday– before it’s gone for the season.

Summer Fun Under the Stars

Councilwoman Cherelle Parker and the Fisher Park Community Alliance present this fun night, which includes a free showing of the movie Black Panther and a visit from Parks on Tap!

Where: Fisher Park (5th & Spencer Streets, 19120)
Cost: Free, with pay-as-you-go food and drinks from Parks on Tap

Trolley Trail Hike

Explore the physical remains of the now-hidden Fairmount Park trolley network, including massive stone tunnels and bridge abutments, along this 4-mile loop hike.

When: Saturday, August 18, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Chamounix Hostel (3250 Chamounix Drive, 19131)
Cost: Free for Fairmount Park Conservancy members; $10 for non-members.
