WHAT: Smoke alarm installations

WHERE: 6900 block of Oakland Street

PFD members and their partners will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature on the 6900 block of Oakland Street, where a fatal fire occurred in April.

The Philadelphia Fire Department received a $1 million grant from FEMA last year to install 30,000 smoke alarms in Philly. If you know city residents in need, ask them to contact Philly 311. The PFD also has adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
